Two Stream Groups Host Marcellus Symposium

Friends of Deckers Creek and Friends of the Cheat are hosting the
second quarterly Marcellus Shale Community Symposium, focused on
air-quality issues and health impacts, with discussions on
volunteer water monitoring programs. The symposium will be from
6:30-8 p.m. June 28 at WVU Evansdale Campus, Engineering Science
Building, Room 207. The public is invited.
Dr. Mike McCawley, WVU Department of Community Medicine, will
present information on a novel system he’s developed to monitor
air quality around Marcellus drill sites, as well as potential
health impacts.
Bill Hughes, Wetzel County Action Group, will share photographs of
air pollution sources from wellsite activities.
