West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Police are investigating the discovery of a body in Monongahela River Monday.

The body, identified as Manuel Nicholas Nevera, 39, of River Road, Morgantown, was found in the Monongahela River at Little Falls at approximately 5 p.m. MECCA 911 received a call from a boater who had been alerted to the body in the water as a result of a possible drowning or jet ski incident, said Natural Resources Police Sgt. Gary Johnson.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and located Nevera.  Nevera's body had been sent to the medical examiner to determine a cause of death, said Sgt. Johnson.

The death is not believed to be suspicious, said Sgt. Johnson.
