Subject: Message from FEMA: Follow-up to Upper Monongahela Watershed Discovery Meetings

Dear Upper Monongahela Watershed Stakeholder:

On behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region III, thank you to everyone who attended one or both of our Risk MAP Discovery Meetings on June 9 and 10, 2014. We are pleased to have engaged in such meaningful conversation about flood risk and resilience with a wide variety of public and private organizations.

Based upon your input, FEMA is planning to proceed with a Risk MAP project for the watershed that, depending upon the availability of resources, will focus on:

The meeting materials, including copies of the presentation and meeting minutes, may be found at https://www.rampp-team.com/pa.htm.

What is best for your community? If you have not already done so, please complete and submit the attached Discovery Data Questionnaire so that FEMA can learn more about flood risk in your community in order to help us tailor the flood risk products and datasets to your needs.  It is important to submit the questionnaire by COB, Thursday, July 3, 2014 so that FEMA can fully incorporate your information into our planning process. We expect to complete our analysis this Fall and shall inform you via email of the type of Risk MAP project we plan to undertake.

Thank you for supporting this effort. The partnership between FEMA and all watershed stakeholders will be vital to our success in identifying flood risks and best way to address them.  If you have any questions regarding the Discovery process or Risk MAP program, please do not hesitate to contact the Study Manager, Marc Radell, at 215-681-9032 or marc.radell@urs.com.

If you have any other questions, please contact me at cynthia.mccoy@fema.dhs.gov or 215-931-5530

Sincerely,

Cynthia McCoy
