Dear Mr. Strimbeck:

I have received a copy of your recent letter to Senator Byrd regarding suggested amendments to the proposed National Recreation Lakes Act (H.R. 4299). This measure requires the heads of Federal lake management agencies to treat recreation as an authorized purpose of each Federal manmade lake managed by such agencies. I appreciate your being in touch.

In an effort to be of assistance, I have contacted Representative Nathan Deal, the sponsor of H.R. 4299, on your behalf and provided him with your proposed amendments. Please be assured that I will be back in touch with you as soon as I receive a response to my inquiry.

In the interim, I hope you won't hesitate to contact me again if I can be helpful in any other way. I want to be of all possible service.
