SUBJECT: National Waterways Conference Summit 7-9 March 2005 Washington DC 20510 Jurys Doyle Hotel Dupont Circle
Dear Congressman Mollohan:
Just as he did last year, Captain George W. Boyle will attend this years NWC budget summit.
George will represent our organizations within the Pittsburgh District (US Army Corps of Engineers) concerned with recreational boating, that is, Boaters are Voters, River Navigation Coalition, Pirates of the Allegheny, and, our Upper Monongahela River Association Incorporated.
George may request to schedule an appointment with a member of your staff, to discuss Corps funding in general, Pittsburgh District funding and projects in particular, and, keeping the locks open on the Upper Allegheny and Upper Monongahela.
We also hope that you and our entire WV delegation will attend the March 8 congressional reception at the conference, so that George may discuss our concerns with you at this forum. The reception is from 5:30-7pm, 2167 Rayburn House Office Building. RSVP to Alison Heath is requested (703-243-4090, alison@waterways.org).
As you know, in the case of our Upper Monongahela in WV, we support your initiative to provide for remote operation of our Morgantown, Hildebrand, and Opekiska locks, from the Point Marion lock. And, we ask your support for our Interim Lock Hours Solution. These initiatives are described on our UPPERMON.ORG website.
To learn more about Captain George and our organizations, please visit www.anchorsaweighmagazine.com. Check out ASK CAPTAIN GEORGE, third listing in menu on homepage. And, at the bottom of the menu, use BOATING LINKS to connect to our organizations.
Sincerely,
Donald C. Strimbeck, Secretary
